Shoeless Joe and his Great Baseball Glove
Joe “Shoeless” Jackson played major league ball in the early 1900’s.
His playing career bounced between the majors and minor leagues. He was a member of the infamous 8 players of the 1919 Chicago White Sox team that was banned for life among allegations of throwing the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds.
He got his nickname during his early years of baseball when he played for a textile mill’s teams. He was suffering from blisters during a game and took his new cleats off while playing – he was teased by a fan about being “shoeless” and the name stuck.
Shoeless Joe´s gloves give a player the quality and style of a professional glove. It’s got a retro baseball glove feel that will take you back 100 years. The hand-cut and sewn from aged leather hides
then rubbed down with oil to make the glove soft and pliable. It’s broken in when you get it home.
